Robert Pattinson readies fans for "Twilight" sequel

By Alex Dobuzinskis
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - For "Twilight" movie fans who are anxiously awaiting the sequel but haven't read the second book in the vampire series, "New Moon," the film's star Robert Pattinson offers this advice -- be ready for something different and perhaps a little strange.
Pattinson became an overnight sensation playing a lovestruck vampire in the smash hit that sucked $373.4 million from global box offices, and he is in Vancouver, Canada, this week starting production on the film version of "New Moon."
Before that sequel lands in theaters in November, Pattinson plays eccentric painter Salvador Dali in "Little Ashes," which opens in art houses May 8 and tells of a homosexual love affair between Dali and the poet Federico Garcia Lorca.
But for now his turn as immortal vampire Edward Cullen, who falls in love with high school girl Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) in "Twilight," has catapulted him to fame and his fans are dying for details on "New Moon."
Pattinson, for one, is cautious.
"The book of 'New Moon,' the majority of it is incredibly depressing," Pattinson told Reuters. "Obviously 'Twilight' was about finding first love and the difficulties of that, but 'New Moon' is really about loss and reconciliation, but the reconciliation isn't completely full."
"It's a strange story to have for a market that, I guess, wants to see a love story," he said.
Nevertheless, the London-born Pattinson said everyone involved is working to make "New Moon" as big a success as "Twilight."
Pattinson's rising star has turned the former model into a favorite target of the paparazzi. Only last year, he was a relatively unknown actor whose big film credits were supporting roles in a pair of "Harry Potter" movies.
"It's turned into this crazy situation. I guess it has become a sort of phenomenon now which I really, really didn't expect," Pattinson said.
So, he often escapes to one of his first loves, music. He plays guitar and piano, and his song "Never Think" made it onto the "Twilight" soundtrack.
For now, he said there are no plans to put his music on "New Moon," but he has become "obsessed" with composing songs.
He said his acting hero is Oscar winner Jack Nicholson, and his ideal job would be something out of the spotlight.
"I like any job where you can just shut yourself away from everybody," he said.
"New Moon," from director Chris Weitz, is scheduled to open in theatres on November 20.

Robert Pattinson: 'I Used to Keep a Diary'

Robert Pattinson used to keep a diary when he was younger.
The Twilight actor - who, luckily, refuses to drink & drive - says he used to jot down all his thoughts and wish for luck.
He reveals, "I remember when I was younger I used to write in my diary: I want my luck to be spread."
However, the hunky Brit doesn't want to be bestowed with too much luck all at the same time.
He adds, "Never give me anything too lucky all at once. I'll take a little luck now and then, but spread it for seventy years."
"Now that all of this is happening, I'm sure the rest of my life will be ruined."
Pattinson, 22, reprises his role as vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight sequel New Moon, which is due out later this year.

Rob Pattinson's a Smart Boozer?

Ted Casablanca Ted Casablanca – Tue Mar 3, 7:49 pm ET
Los Angeles (E! Online) – Those Brits love to drink. And although Rob Pattinson might do it more than others, at least he's more in control than previous young famous misfits, à la Lindsay and Paris. Our friends over at Celebuzz got a surprising Pattinson sighting out last night. No, he wasn't sober, but he was technically in Hollywood.
R.P. was posted up at the Bar in the outskirts of H'wood last night, in "very good spirits" as he downed some bubbly with friends, Celebuzz reported. "He was sharing champagne with his group, passing it freely to others in the bar," a fellow drinker dished, adding that Rob looked quite sexy with his lips around that bottle.
So who did Pattz go home with at the end of the night?
After "encouragement" from bar patrons, say fairly sober witnesses, R.P. "resisted driving home" and got a ride to his friend's house.
Hmmm, wonder who exactly that might be? Hopefully he didn't continue the party too long, 'cause Robbie is supposed to begin production on New Moon today in Vancouver, B.C. Take good care of him up in Canada, Twilight loonies!

Robert Pattinson can't wait to dump co-star in next Vampire film
New Delhi, Feb 28 : Robert Pattinson, who's set to reprise his 'Twilight' role of vampire Edward Cullen opposite Kristen Stewart's Bella in 'New Moon', has admitted that he's excited about filming the scenes where he ends their relationship.
When asked what he is looking forward to about the sequel, Robert replied: "The scene where we temporarily break up. On one hand, it's completely impossible. And on the other, it sets a very different tone to the series. I think it will be good."
The Hollywood hunk also spoke about working with new helmer, Chris Weitz, on 'New Moon', insisting he is expecting an "impressive" end result, reports The China Daily.
He added to MTV news: "I think there's going to be some continuity, but it's weird, because they are shooting it in a different city than the first film.
"I've talked to Chris a bit, but we've only talked about my character; I haven't really talked about the whole look of it. But Chris is great with visual stuff, so it should be pretty impressive."

Robert Pattinson: I’m Not Attractive

Robert Pattinson says it is difficult for him to believe that his female fans find him so attractive. The ‘Twilight’ actor says he has never considered himself good looking and wishes he could fix his appearance.
“I never really considered myself attractive. I was always kind of gangly in school,” he says. “Before I go out to face a crowd, I stare and stare at myself in the mirror until I have to tell myself to stop staring, since there’s nothing I can do.”
Meanwhile, Pattinson, who recently admitted that his celebrity crush is his co-star Kristen Stewart, is set to reprise his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight sequel New Moon.
