Pattinson set to take Efron crown?

Twilight's Robert Pattinson may be the latest young movie star getting the American teens screaming, but the British actor doesn't reckon he's taken over from Zac Efron in the heartthrob stakes.

"I don't think I quite have yet," he tells Premiere.com, "Although it's funny to see my face on T-shirts. I don't really see it as me. But luckily, I don't have that much to live up to because I'm playing a broody vampire. I don't have to be sweet and clean-cut. But it's cool, I guess. It's complimentary. "

The star, who also appeared as Cedric Diggory in two Harry Potter films is preparing for even more recognition when the vampire film, based on the best selling book, hits US cinemas next week.

"I am grateful about being part of this huge phenomenon," he says. "I mean, there are only so many times something like this is going to happen in your life. And I thought I'd had my run with Harry Potter. It is quite insane."Pattinson set to take Efron crown?
